When a Porsche 964 Restomod Becomes True Craftsmanship

RCR is far more than a visual upgrade. It is a fully engineered Porsche 964 restomod — the result of five years of development and thousands of hours of precision craftsmanship.

Our journey began over a decade ago with the restoration of air-cooled Porsche icons such as the 356 and early 911 models. That foundation taught us deep respect for original engineering. The RCR project, however, gave us the freedom to reinterpret the icon — blending heritage with modern performance.


The Evolution of an Icon: Porsche 964 Restomod

The Porsche 964 serves as our base platform, but what leaves our workshop is a modern, lightweight, performance-focused evolution.

Each RCR build pushes further. In our latest custom Porsche 964 project, we achieved a curb weight of just 1,195 kg (fully fueled and road-ready). The philosophy? Relentless weight reduction without compromise.

The complete bodywork — bumpers, hood, mirrors and panels — is produced from certified carbon fiber. A key engineering highlight is the one-piece carbon rear quarter panel integrated with the side sill. This solution alone allowed us to reduce an additional 20 kg compared to our previous generation build.

This is not cosmetic carbon. This is structural, performance-driven engineering.


Engineered Performance: 3.8L Air-Cooled Flat-Six – 375 HP

At the heart of our Porsche 964 restomod lies a fully reworked 3.8-liter air-cooled flat-six, developed from the original 3.6 platform.

Mechanical Upgrades

  • Individual Throttle Body (ITB) system with six independent throttles
  • Custom CNC-machined aluminum valve covers
  • Bespoke exhaust system with 3D-printed exhaust tips

Electronics & Management

  • Ecumaster Pro-series ECU
  • Electronic drive-by-wire (DBW) throttle system

  • 375 HP
  • 0–100 km/h in 3.8 seconds
  • 8,200 rpm redline

To reliably sustain 8,200 rpm, we engineered the complete fan drive system from the ground up. This is a high-revving air-cooled engine built for real-world driving and track performance.

Precision Handling & Chassis Engineering

We don’t build cars for static display. Every RCR Porsche 964 is engineered to deliver surgical driving precision.

Suspension

Öhlins suspension system, professionally corner-balanced to achieve nearly perfect 49% weight distribution.

Braking System

Brembo 355 mm braking setup with floating discs ensures consistent stopping power on both road and track.

Functional Aerodynamics & Cooling

Nothing on this car is decorative.

  • The central front grille feeds the oil cooling system (supported by additional electric fans).
  • Side air intakes supply airflow to the ITB system and brake cooling ducts.
  • Even the windshield wipers were repositioned closer together to enhance the motorsport-inspired character.

Every element serves a purpose.


Bespoke Interior: Aluminum, Carbon & Driver Focus

Inside, factory plastics are eliminated entirely. The dashboard is machined from a single piece of aluminum, integrating a Porsche Classic infotainment system with navigation.

Our signature feature is the custom-developed LCD display replacing the traditional tachometer. This fully integrated driver interface provides:

  • RPM
  • Digital speed readout
  • Oil temperature
  • Oil pressure
  • Current gear indicator

Every tactile surface — door handles, handbrake lever, steering column stalks — is CNC-machined from aluminum and finished in premium leather or Alcantara.

This is a bespoke Porsche interior designed for drivers.
