From September 18–20, we attended the Retro Motor Show 2026 in Poznań —the 10th anniversary edition of one of Poland’s most important events dedicated to classic cars.
If you visited the Poznań International Fair this year, there’s a good chance you also saw our yellow Porsche 911 RCR, which was on display at the NOVOL booth.
The car was showcased there as a demonstration vehicle for the NOVOL for Classic Cars system —a technology designed for the comprehensive restoration of classic cars and youngtimers.
For us, however, it was above all a good opportunity to show where RCR stands in the world of classic automobiles.
Restomod – somewhere between a classic Porsche and a modern car
The Retro Motor Show is primarily associated with vintage cars, meticulously restored classics, and youngtimers.
RCR takes a slightly different approach.
A classic car restoration typically aims to recreate the vehicle as faithfully as possible—in accordance with the factory specifications, technology, and character of the era from which it originates.
On the other hand, we have modern cars: faster, more precise, more comfortable, and the result of several decades of automotive development.
A restomod serves as a bridge between these two worlds.
It preserves what is most important in a classic car—its proportions, analog character, mechanics, and the thrill it provides—while at the same time allowing for the use of modern knowledge, materials, and technical solutions.
So it’s not about building a new car that just looks like an old one.
The idea is to expand on the classic in such a way that its story could continue.
The 964-generation Porsche 911 as the basis for the RCR
In the case of the RCR, the starting point is the 964-generation Porsche 911.
It is this generation that preserves the character of the classic Porsche 911 while also providing an excellent foundation for creating a car that meets modern expectations.
During the manufacturing process, much more than just the car’s appearance changes.
We work on the body, suspension, brakes, powertrain, interior, ergonomics, and the details that determine how the car handles and how the driver perceives it.
The goal is to create a car that still offers the analog driving experience of a classic 911, but allows drivers to enjoy it much more often than a typical collector’s car.
Yellow Porsches at the Retro Motor Show 2026
Our yellow Porsche RCRs were on display at the NOVOL booth during the 2026 Retro Motor Show.
This compilation had special meaning for us.
After all, the foundation of any good restomod is a properly restored and protected body. Even the most advanced mechanical modifications are meaningless if the car’s foundation hasn’t been prepared to the proper standard.
That is why the technology used in bodywork restoration is of great importance for a project like this.
NOVOL for Classic Cars was created specifically for the restoration of classic cars—from protecting the body and preparing the surface to the final paintwork.
As a show car showcasing this technology, the RCR also effectively illustrates the concept behind our entire project:
Appreciation for classic cars doesn’t have to mean giving up modern innovations.
A classic design, but a car built for driving
Walking through the halls of the Retro Motor Show in Poznań, visitors could see virtually the entire spectrum of approaches to classic cars—from vehicles preserved in their original condition, to fully restored cars, to owners’ custom projects.
Restomod has its own place in this world.
For us, a classic car doesn’t have to be just a display piece.
It may look like a car we remember from posters, magazines, and the streets from several decades ago, yet it handles, brakes, and performs in a way that makes it truly usable.
And those are exactly the kinds of cars we want to build at RCR.
A classic Porsche that’s not just a pleasure to look at—but, above all, a pleasure to drive.
